Witch and convicted murderer Phoebe Halliwell is scheduled to be executed tomorrow at 12:01 am. The execution will entail burning at the stake. Prue: As they entered the manor, Prue turned around just to make sure that Piper still had the Book of Shadows in her hand, with the newspaper in her hand that had been on the front lawn Prue closed the door after Piper entered. It wasn't that she didn't trust her sister, it was just that she couldn't help but be nervous in a time she knows nothing about. Everything seems so different, but she has no difference interanally. Prue went in to the living room, and pulled out the paper and started to look through it. If it was current information they needed, the paper seemed to be a logically place to find it. She pulled the paper out of the package and began so search it's contents. "Piper...look at this!" she said, opening the paper all the way, and setting it out on the coffee table. "Looks like the paper just confirms the radio..." she said, glancing at the article about her sister, but her eyes turned to the one on the other page, about the witch hunts. "Apparently more is going on that we though..." she sighed, fully reading the article about her sister quietly to herself...

Piper
Reading the article over Prue's shoulder, Piper couldn't help but shudder. What they're saying Phoebe did couldn't be true... could it? She'd never use her powers to kill someone, ever. I mean, her powers aren't even active! This isn't right. Piper sunk down onto the couch, letting Prue finish reading without her. "This makes no sense, Prue," she commented. "There's no way Phoebe would kill someone, even if she suddenly got an active power. An ye harm none... we might not have been witches for long, but even back in our time, we knew that one. And--- and witch trials? What does that mean?"
Piper was beyond confused, moving into panic. They needed answers, but who to talk to? "Do you think-- I mean, Leo's probably still our whitelighter, right?" she asked. "Maybe we should call him. Now that we're home, I mean."
Paige Matthews - March 15, 2006 08:38 PM (GMT)
Prue: Prue was relieved when Piper mentioned Leo. They had finally gotten to a point that they couldn't really get any more information, or make in intelligent decisions without knowing exactly what was going on. She hadn't wanted to mention it before, because it was possible that Leo was Melinda's father...but then again, it was just as possible that he wasn't. "Well...obviously our powers have grown, but you're right Piper...something just doesn't seem right. Phoebe is not a murder...and it seems like whatever happened, she was caught. Everyone knows she's a witch. It must have started some sort of modern day witch trials, but how it all got started, I haven't the faintest..." her voice leveled off a little and she glanced sympathetically at Piper, "That's why Melinda promised not to use magic...because of this..." she set the newspaper down, frustrated at the future they'd found. "I think we should call him..." Prue finally commented, then went on, not wanting Piper to second-guess herself. "Leo! LEO! We need you! LEO!"

Leo
Leo was at his home tending to some things, when he heard Prue calling for him. He orbed out immediately. In a bright rain of blue orbs, he came into the manor. He looked at Prue and Piper.
"What's going on?" He asked.
Paige Matthews - March 18, 2006 04:26 PM (GMT)
Prue: "We need your help..." she told him, skipping the pleasentries. "The Prue and Piper that you see standing before are from 10 years ago. We've been wondering around this future with no idea what is going on, other than our sister is going to be killed today for murder, that we know she didn't do! I mean, what did she do, premonition the man to death?!" she asked, getting more frustrated. She felt bad, because she didn't even give Piper a chance to breath or prepare herself before Leo appeared, and now no time to even savor his presence, but time was of the essence. "We've got to get her out of there, and somehow we've got to get home- but the return spell is gone!" she gestured towards the book, but accidentally sent it flying through the room, and in to the kitchen. "Uh..." she rolled her eyes, glad at least that she didn't destroy the house.

Leo
"You guys are from the past? Anyway, she did kill this man. In this time, she has an active power. She killed Cal Green out of revenge for killing one of her friends. The leader in this witch hunt is Nathaniel Pratt, he's using this as a political campaign. And if you're planning to rescue her, don't. Or you'll be joining in with her. She's being burned at the stake, and there's nothing I can do. The Elders have already warned me. . ."
Leo looked to Piper and Prue.
"I'm sorry."
Gaia - March 19, 2006 04:06 PM (GMT)
Piper
She stood silently as Prue explained the situation to Leo, wondering what to say first, what to do first. He was from the future, which meant that he must know who was the father of her child... or he might be the father of her child. Either way, it was a terrifying situation. But as he told them what was going on in the world, Piper moved from worrying about her own life to worrying about her sisters.
"You mean Cal Green, the baseball player?" Piper asked. "But... Phoebe wouldn't kill anyone, even if they killed one of her friends. She would let the police take care of it or something. Wouldn't she? Anyway, who cares? There's no way in hell we're just going to let her die. Sorry, Leo, but no. She's our sister, and she's going to live. Period."
Piper couldn't believe that this was Leo, their whitelighter, who was supposed to look out for them, take care of them. He didn't sound very sorry to her. He was talking about letting Phoebe die like it was nothing! And being burned at the stake... that's not a way anyone should die, ever. What was going on in this damn future?

Leo
"Yes, the baseball player," Leo told her. "Well, things change within ten years. People change, do things they thought they never would. Or do things their family and friends thought they never would. If you go off to help her, you'll be leaving our daughter motherless if anything happens. I'm still your whitelighter, so if I can't change your mind to not going. . . then I still have to look after you."
Paige Matthews - March 19, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
Prue: "Of coarse we're not going to change our minds, Leo!" Prue said, agreeing with everything that Piper had said. "We can't just leave her here to die. Besides, if we stand a chance of getting out of this time, it's with the power of three, and without Phoebe Piper and I are screwed anyways-" she said, referring to his warning of them joining her. She crossed her arms, and then looked at Piper, "We're gonna need the book to get her out of there..." she went and sat down on the couch, and opened up the Book of Shadows, and a piece of paper fell to the ground. She unfolded it, and looked at what she thought was a map. As she examined it closer, she saw some markings in her handwriting, "This must be the map to where they are holding Phoebe..." she said. "This has been the only thing so far that I've agreed with my future self about-" she commented as she began to flip through the book more, to see whatelse they may have prepared for Phoebe's great escape.

Melinda
Melinda sat in her last period class. She had a short day today. What with her Aunt Phoebe being burned most wanted to watch the stuff before it happened so they'd be releasing school early. Melinda sighed. She didn't get it, didn't get why they all hated Phoebe so much, why they hated her for being a witch. Though she'd do as her mother asked and not use magic, in public anyway. The bell rang for the end of school. Melinda gathered up her belongings, headed out the door to wait for Kaci to pick her up and bring her home.
"Melinda you ready?" Kaci asked, as she rolled down the window.
"Yeah I guess." Melinda responded, climbing into the back.
They reached the Manor, Kaci looked back at Melinda. "Bye sweetie. Say hi to your mom for me." Kaci said.
Melinda climbed out of the backseat. "Bye Kaci." Melinda said.
Melinda ran into the house and threw her backpack on the floor. She heard her mother, Prue, and her father talking. She ran into the kitchen.
"Daddy!" Melinda said, throwing her arms around him.

Leo
"Well, since you're not going to change your mnds, just be careful. It's a dangerous place out there. I can only do so much, before the elders find out what I've done. I'll be able to help you along the best I can." He watched her move to the book. Then he heard his daughter's voice.
"Daddy!" Melinda said, throwing her arms around him.
Leo grabbed her, hugging her lovingly. "Hey, sweetheart. How was school?"

Melinda
Melinda hugged her father tight then pulled back. She looked up at him. She missed her daddy. Ever since he moved out she rarely got to see him. She missed having him around.
"School was fine. I miss you daddy." Melinda said. "Why are you here?" Melinda asked, looking between her father and mother.

Piper
Our daughter? Oh my god. I mean, I knew that-- well, at least I figured that Melinda was his. But it's a whole different thing to hear it. Piper didn't know what to say to Leo. He was so different from the one she had seen just this morning; he didn't want them to save Phoebe, and he seemed distant, detatched from them in a way he hadn't been before. And then to find out they had a child together... but still, no ring. Were we never married? Did we just have a kid? I know that happens all the time, but I guess I never thought it would happen to me.
Since she couldn't think of anything to say, Piper simply shrugged at Leo and went to sit with Prue. She agreed with her wholeheartedly: they were going to get Phoebe out, no matter what. And they only had a few hours to do it. As Prue looked at the book, Piper picked up the map and studied it. "If this is the prison, we're going to have a hard time getting in," she commented. "Oh, hey, stop." She had noticed that a page in the book was dog-eared, towards the back where the map had fallen from.
"To Create A Door," Piper read. "Well, that would help. But what are the rest of those?" As Melinda's voice rang out, she was suddenly distracted. She rose from the couch, handing the map back to Prue, and watched as her daughter rushed to Leo's side.
"What am I, chopped liver?" she asked, feeling a bit wounded. Sure, she didn't really know the kid, but Melinda knew her and went straight to Leo anyway. Piper was having a sudden load of doubt about her abilities as a parent.
"Anyway, Leo... uh, your dad... he's just here to... to help us with something," she said, stumbling over the words.
Paige Matthews - March 21, 2006 01:03 AM (GMT)
Prue: "Yeah, your mommy and I are gonna have to go run a quick errand, and you're dad is here to watch you-" Prue said with a cheerful expression to her niece, who didn't even seem to know or notice her. She kept looking through the book, now paying more attention to the ones with the edges turned down. She shook her head, thinking to herself as Piper and Leo chatted about their apparent domestic issues. It was a shame Piper didn't really have any memories to bring to the table. 'To make money? To bend someone's will?' she read the titles of the spells. There were a lot of spells clearly for personal gain, and she didn't understand why would use them, let alone write them. She looked up at Leo and Piper, to see if they were finished. Her and Piper only had a limited amount of time to get Phoebe, and they had to get started. "You guys done?" she asked lightly, not wanting to rush them more than she had to.

Leo
Leo could tell there was something different about Piper. She looked at him like she still loved him. He missed that. He had been divorced from her for too long now. Was there hope they could get back together? Deep down in his heart, he wanted it, but could it really be again? He turned to Prue and Piper as they looked at the book.
"If you guys need anything, just call. I'll be here." Leo said with a heavy heart. Then he turned to Melinda. "Can you go play for a minute?"
Then he moved to the two sisters. "Be careful out there. I don't want you two to get hurt. Melinda will need a mother and an aunt to take care of her, not just a father. Okay?" He said that in a loving tone, was he being changed too?
americangrl69 - March 21, 2006 11:56 PM (GMT)
Melinda
Melinda giggled and shook her head. "No mommy." Melinda said. She ran over and hugged her mother. She still wasn't sure what was going on with her today but didn't want to think too much about. She smiled when Prue spoke. She looked back at her father. "Ok daddy." Melinda said. She let her mother go and ran off to go play in her room.
Paige Matthews - April 3, 2006 07:33 PM (GMT)
Prue: Prue was glad for the comforting words that Leo was giving her, but at the same time she couldn't help but feel obsolete. All she did in this time aparently was work...her family didn't need her anymore. "Thanks Leo...but...I think that Piper's the only one that'll need to come back," she said lightly. "And Phoebe," she took in a deep breath. "Let's just...go get our sister back? Maybe then we can write a power of three spell to send us back..." Prue thought. She looked at Piper, "you ready?" she asked, holding several pages from the book of shadows, and the map that she had found int he book.
