RPG Title: Lord of the Rings: The Shire
RPG Plot: Before the Fellowship...
Sauron was born in Riverdell, and seconds after he was born his mother knew that he was an abnormal, morbid child. His father had been murdered almost a year before Sauron was born. It was said that an old wizard named Saruman the White tried to prevent him from conceiving a child with Elva Baron, his wife. But many had their doubts.
Elva christened her son Elthyr, which meant 'fearless child' in her language, the language of the elves. For he had not cried at all when he was born, nor made the baby sounds and gurgling that normal newborns would. What struck fear in Elva's heart was that he had given her a glare with his dark eyes. He had protested against being loved and cradled, and even touched. Elva was shocked at this behavior and tried to give him away. She was banished from Riverdell, her home, for trying to abandon a vulnerable, helpless child.
She came to the Shire, asking for help. She said that she just knew that her son was going to be a traitor. She met Bilbo Baggins' brother, Byrns Baggins, and thought him surprisingly like her late husband. She became Elva Baggins, no longer a widow, and together they produced a child, Frodo Baggins, and for years Elva forgot about the feelings she had felt toward Elthyr.
Soon Elthyr caused much bloodshed in the village when he was naught ten years old and Frodo five. Elva abandoned him in a far away mountain where Smaug the Dragon lived. Elthyr became friends with Smaug, surprisingly. He one day found a ring among the hoard of Smaug. He discovered its powers and invulnerability. Smaug had told him it had been first created by his father in Mordor and Mount Doom.
Elthyr's greed overcame his friendship and he attempted to steal the One Ring. Enraged, Smaug murdered Elthyr. But the One Ring protected him and Elthyr began the powerful army that he believed would one day rule them all and take over Middle Earth. He created the Ringwraiths, and tried to kill Saruman. The two became friends. Saruman created the Uruks and the Orcs for his master.
Meanwhile, back at the Shire, Frodo met Samwise Gamgee, Peregrin 'Pippin' Took, and Merry. They became friends and shortly after they left their parents' homes to roam the Shire as young men, all of their parents were murdered. Gandalf told nothing to his young friend Frodo.
And Frodo and his friends strive to find the secrets that his parents had kept from him...
Meanwhile, in Riverdell, Legolas Greenleaf is slightly older than Frodo. The Archer of Riverdell, he sets off to the City of Rohan with his new friend the Ranger, Striker, or Aragorn, and Gandalf to create allies with the warriors there. That is where Gandalf first meets the King of Rohan and Eowyn and Theodred...
Elrond and his young daughter, Arwen, go to Galadriel so Arwen can learn spells and healing. Galadriel had taught Elrond everything he knew when he was his daughter's age. There they free Gimli the Dwarf, who is working as a slave for Galadriel and her husband...
