Title: Doctor Who
Description: Unexpected Reunion
PsiGen - March 16, 2006 08:20 PM (GMT)
This is a test case scenario for the fandom of Doctor Who, featuring the Fifth Doctor and his companion Tegan Jovanka, an air stewardess.
If you wish to play the Master, Nyssa or Adric then please notify Jessica and you will be included in the test scenario.
The Doctor lands on Earth in the year 1999, where he is tracing an alien pickpocket who inadvertantly stepped through a time portal on the planet Alcraion III.
Unbenownst to him, he is about to have a reunion of another kind entirely...
As he stepped out into the bustle and heat of Australia, the Doctor wondered why aliens he was chasing couldnt pick somewhere more agreeable... like The Lords Cricket Ground during the Ashes or something.
Sighing, he kept the tracker hidden, sure his prey was somewhere close by.
"The things I end up doing... still thats the freelance life for you.." He mumbled, concentrating on the device.

Tegan Jovanka walked out of the cafe with her friend Doreen Champson. They had just finished their flight and had stopped off for some tea before heading home. Doreen had just finished telling a funny story about a passenger in economy, when out of nowhere, an urchin bumped into them, stealing Doreen's purse, leaving only the straps in her hand. "What the bloody h*ll?" Doreen screamed.
Tegan, still remarkably agile, sprinted after the kid, yelling, "Stop! Stop him! He stole her purse!" She left her stewardess case in Doreen's hands. She turned the corner and spotted both her prey and an old friend. The Doctor!

The Doctor hadnt spotted Tegan, but he certainly spotted the alien pickpocket and niftily tripped him up with an umbrella.
"Now now, thats not nice." He reprimanded the alien, who was thankfully wearing a holomitter.
He retrieved the handbag and looked up to give it back to its owner, smiling.
And froze when he saw her standing there.
"Hells Teeth, Tegan!" He said, absently borrowing one of her euphanisms, that had engrained themselves on him during her brief but very memorable stay with him.

Tegan stood there, her jaws agape, not trusting her voice just yet. "Doctor?" she said in amazement. "Whatever are you doing here?"
She absently tooked the proffered handbag and just stood there. Seeing the Doctor again after some time had rendered her speechless. "Tegan! Tegan! Did you get my purse?" Doreen screeched around the corner, trailing the two cases behind her. Tegan shook herself and handed over the purse. Doreen looked from Tegan to the gentleman. "Oh, thank ye, sir!" Doreen gushed.

"You're welcome. I was just ah.. passing through." Said the Time Lord, somewhat entranced and embarrassed at seeing her again.
"I have to ah.. see this man gets into the appropriate custody." He added, pointedly, looking meaningfully at Tegan.
He hoped she picked up on the meaning.
"But maybe later... if you're not doing anything?" He said, clearly speaking to Tegan, but including her friend as well.

Tegan regained her composure. "Yes, yes, of course. Doreen and I were just headed home. Doreen, you go on. I'll handle the paperwork with the bobbies for you. You just get yerself a cuppa and go to bed. Don't you have a flight out in 8 hours?" She exchanged Doreen's purse for her case. "My next flight is in three days, so I can stay up a while longer." Tegan all but pushed Doreen on her way. Her brows were pushed together as she thought hard.
"Righto, Tegan! I'll do that!" Doreen meekly headed off, her purse more securely held under her jacket. "Bye, Tegan! And thank ye again, sir!"

"You're welcome, Im sure." Said the Doctor watching Doreen leave with some relief.
"Right, just got to get this chap to the TARDIS. Then maybe we can catch up. You left... abruptly to say the least." He said, with a faint smile. He manhandled the guy to the door with some difficulty and over to where the TARDIS stood, as incongrous as ever. He opened the door with his key, and pushed the alien inside.

Tegan looked a little nervously over her shoulder at Doreen's retreat. "Right, about that..." She followed the Doctor inside, relieved at the temperature difference inside. "So other than him, what brings you back to Australia?"
She pulled her cap and jacket off with a contented sigh. "I don't suppose you have a tea kettle on?" she asked, still amazed at the inside of the TARDIS's interior.

The Doctor poked his head out from behind the door.
"Naturally." He said with his usual boyish smile.
He held out a teacup, and vanished back inside, not seemingly have noticed his companions unease at their last parting.
He concentrated on the teathings, but frowned when he realised something was missing.
Then he remembered! He grabbed a flower and stuck it in a little vase at the centre of the table.
"I wouldnt worry about our little friend. He's taking a little nap." He confided.
"Shall I be mother?"
gelf - March 16, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
Tegan took the teacup and nodded at the Doctor's question about mother.
"So, what's new with you?" [/B]she asked finally. She'd have to get use to his mannerisms all over again.
She smiled at his putting the flower in the center of the table. "I see you haven't been too remiss in some things."

"Hey, Im not THAT old yet." He said, joining in their bantar. It was like old times.
He poured the tea, and regarded his old friend and companion.
"So what have you been up to since last we met?" He asked her, breaking the silence.
He wanted to ask her about that day, the day she had felt she had to leave them, and of course tell her about Turlough's getting back home. But he didnt want to swamp her... she prolly wouldnt be interested anyway.
So he waited.
