Title: Rules
Description: Version 1.0

  • Joining

1.1 Read the rules before you join. Know them. As is true in the American legal system, "I didn't know" is not an acceptable excuse.

1.2 Join with your character's first and last name. August Shriver is great. August_Shriver, 4ugu57_5hr1v3r, or LotR_Fan_864 ire not.

1.3 If you don't plan on staying, don't join. If you can't bring yourself to be active at least once or twice a week, don't bother to register.

1.4 Don't join just to post an ad. The advertising forums are accessible to guests for a reason. Being a member doesn't give your ad precedence over guest ads, and if you join only to post an ad both you and your posts will be deleted from the site.

1.5 One person may use one account. Account sharing is not allowed. Yeah, I know, two people can share one e-mail address, whatever - more than one account can be registered to one. Having one account for multiple characters fucks up the bank account system, and makes things harder during role play.

  • Applications

2.1 When applying for anything (characters, shops, pets, etc.), finish your application before you post it.

2.2 Describe what you are applying for fully. Lists are not acceptable for general overviews, such as a personality of history description.

2.3 Everything has a history, even if the history is not known to the character(s). If your character has amnesia, that doesn't mean their childhood never happened. When it comes to your character, you should know everything about them.

2.4 You may sign up as "canon" characters, people who lived during the 1930s if you like. If its someone important in history, I'll need you to ask for permission first (Wanna play Hitler? Okay. Ask in advance. Same goes for any political leader of the time). Do your research so your character is as accurate as possible, and make sure that there isn't already someone playing that character on the forum. Check first, seriously. Don't go to all the trouble of making your application perfect, the have it be denied on the spot because someone is already playing them.

  • General

3.1 Low content posts are not acceptable, in or out of character. If you troll the forums trying to get your post count up, you will be punished.

3.2 Stay on target. Don't go to Cairo in the middle of a fistfight in London. Don't start talking about puppies in a thread about plot changes. DO NOT post anything about voting for you on some website or any sort of spam/advertisements in any forum other than the advertising thread.

3.3 Curtail your conflicts - don't let them get out of hand. This is a role play forum, nothing important. You're not expected to get along with everyone, and you aren't required to get along with anyone here, but flame wars are not permissible, general squabbling and insulting should be kept to a minimum, for sanity's sake.

3.4. Respect the staff. They're here to keep the site running optimally and generally make things smoother for you. If you don't like the mods or the site's moderation, feel free to not post here.

3.5 Swearing is allowed on site, I don't mind it, but there comes a point where it doesn't add anything to your speech. I'll put censors on if I need to, but I would really prefer to not do that.

3.6 Racism is not okay out of character. Ever.

3.7 When you post on this forum, post like you would talk to a person in real life. I don't care if you do say "omg" or whatever the fuck, don't do it. Don't even think about doing it. Posting like a twelve-year-old may be okay on other forums, but it's not okay here.

3.8 Before you post in any forum, please ask yourself - "Am I adding anything to the topic at hand? Is my post funny, informative, or otherwise noteworthy? Will it be interesting on any level? Will it add to the plot and role play experience of my fellow members?" If you cannot answer yes to any of these questions, please do not post.

  • Role Playing

4.1 Two paragraphs minimum. One paragraph = six full sentences. I am not flexible on this, two is the minimum.

4.2 Do not change the font, I don't care your reasoning for it. It makes the forums look cleaner if you just use the standard. Small fonts, especially, are a pain in the ass to read, so just don't do it.

4.3 Stay in character at all times. No exceptions

4.4 Opposite to rule 3.6, racism is fine in character. I'm sorry if it offends you, but let's be honest here. The Germans didn't like the Jews during WWII. Whites didn't like blacks. This list goes on. Understand that any racist comments made during role play by anyone are not to be taken seriously.

4.5 This role play is meant to be realistic. Holding to this, people will use drugs, have sex, and fight with each other. This stiff didn't not happen just because it was 1936. You don't need to put a warning in thread titles - if you join and start role playing here you need to understand we might be approaching topics that are kinda PG-13. This is a PG-13 and up site.

4.6 Murder of NPCs is fine, you may do so without permission, to an extent. Follow with the real timeline if your NPC happens to be a real person. If you want to kill someone elses character, or your own, you need to get permission first.

4.7 You can role play in separate threads, assuming, though, they take place at different times of day. This is a real time rp, so the day that a rp is opened is the day it takes place for the duration (assuming it doesn't span a few days). Therefore, I request that rpers put the date and time in the thread description. If a role play you want to join takes place at 12:00 pm, but one you are role playing takes place at 11:45, you can't join the other. Understand?

4.8 In accordance with rule 4.7, if you get shot in a thread taking place on August 31st at 5:00 pm, but on September 1st at midnight you don't have any wound, you will be asked to edit your posts, and reprimanded.

4.9 These character need to be treated as though they were real people. They have feelings, memories, opinions, etc. Make them more than two dimensional, this is very important.

4.10 Please do not type your dialog in something other than English. Not all of us speak German, Italian, etc. If your characters are speaking another language, put your text in italics. That doesn't mean you can use any non-English words, but make it easy on others, okay?
These rules are subject to change at any time without prior warning. Check them often.
