Title: Alberi Ventosi

Avyn Van Uragano - December 19, 2007 03:24 PM (GMT)
Well now, what can I possibly say about Alberi Ventosi?

Alberi Ventosi is a small village set in the Foresta di Vecchio on the northern coast of Sicily. The history of the village actually goes back 800 years, to before it was established, when a nomadic tribe of sylphs, my tribe's ancestors, came to Foresta di Vecchio (Forest of Old). The tribe didn’t intend to stay long, as was their tradition. However, shortly after their arrival, they came into contact with the many spirits of the forest and the two groups quickly found themselves beyond friendly terms. Before they knew it the sylph tribe had been there for 90 years and were showing no intentions of leaving. Together, with the help of the forest spirits, the sylph tribe spent the next 10 years constructing the village, a place where the two groups could live together in harmony.

Four hundred years passed, four hundred years of peace and tranquility. During this time the line between the sylphs and the forest spirits had been blurred and they all acted as one. But things began to change. The air in the forest suddenly began to feel ominous, dangerous even, to the sylphs. What exactly this change was and what exactly happened is unknown. All that is known is that something finally caused both groups to abandon Alberi Ventosi, the sylphs to resume their nomadic ways and the forest spirits back into their slumber. The chief of the sylph tribe ordered that all information regarding the village was to be hidden from all future generations, and so most all documents and maps concerning it were destroyed and the rest sealed away by the elders, leaving only stories and rumors.

Fast forward to about twenty years ago, when a couple named the Uraganos found and began studying documents concerning the village; which had secretly been passed down through the generations of the Uragano family. Despite disdain and even threats from the rest of the tribe, the two poured over the information, wanting to find the truth. The only thing that was ever able to pull them away from their study was the conception and birth of their only child, a son named Avyn (me). Still, parenthood was only a minor setback and within a year they were hitting the books once again. Not long after my first birthday the two left on an expedition to find and explore the village for themselves, the tribe having migrated near it again. The trip was only supposed to take three months, but the two were never seen again.

This brings us to the present, when I decided to continue their research and to discover why they never came back. Now, after four hundred years, someone has set foot into the village of Windy Trees. Me, along with my friends Kuinra and Rakugo, have found the village and have begun turning it back into a place where anyone can come and build a life for themselves the way they wish.

So what does that all mean? Pretty much it means there's an empty village in the middle of the forest that needs populated. Whether you're a fighter looking for challanges, a wandere looking for a new place to roam, or just someone looking for a place to relax and make friends, Alberi Ventosi is the place for you. We're always welcoming new villagers and we're aways willing to do what we can to make them comfortable enough that they'll never want to leave. I myself won't until I know what happened to my only family.

So come jopin us in Alberi Ventosi, a place where the winds of new beginings are always blowing.
