All hell's broken loose, literally.
Though technically only a few hundred demons got through the Devil's Gate in Wyoming, more are finding their way onto earth every day. It's a huge odd against the Winchester brothers and the other hunters who are already having a helluva time keeping up with the rising rates of demon possessions and evil supernatural entities. If the increasing demonic activity isn't enough, the demons have now begun cooking up a storm from within the local governments. Hunters are fast becoming the hunted as demons try to tip the scales in their own favor.
The boys are back on the road, immersed in this war against the demons - not even knowing for sure how it'll end. Throwing a wrench into the mix are hostile hunters who blame Sam and Dean for unleashing hell; gypsies - are they ever going to join in the battle?; and rumors that maybe, maybe Sam could be some sort of a chosen one - for the demons. Both brothers are already having a hard time coping with such a vicious rumor, and they certainly don't need the hostility from fellow hunters and stubborn neutrality on the gypsies' part. As if that wasn't enough, Dean's only got one year left to fight after his deal with the crossroad demon. Still, there are some people left on the boys' side, willing to pass on information and help when it's needed. They have to be more careful than ever about who they trust, though: the enemies lurk within their own ranks.
They'll need more weapons and more manpower if they're ever going to succeed in this war against demons, or at least up the supernatural body count. Time is running out for both sides - the evil and good - and the bloodiest showdown is right around the corner.
