Title: bit-map and inkjet transparency instructions

I remember a while ago seeing instructions on the Cape Fear Press web site about how to make transparencies, and in particular make them from Bitmap files.

For many months now I've been trying to make transparencies on my Epson 2400 printer, but its problematic: The printer is made to make high resolution prints and does a poor job in Draft or Plain mode, and doesn't give you much control over which inks to print with. I've tried using Quadtone RIP to control the printer (and work at 720 DPI ouput, instead of 1440, or 2880), but I end up with streaks and banding on the transparency. I'm now wanting to return to using the Advanced B/W mode and print Bitmaps, but would like some advice.

Best, David.

I had similar problems with using transparencys, I now print onto Epson high resolution paper which is cheaper than the transparencys and gives much darker prints.

This paper is coated on one side only and you must ise the correct side to print on or the ink follows the paper filaments.

to make a transparency from this i place it print side down on a tissue and rub a few drops of baby oil into the back of the paper.

exposure is probably 3 times what a true transparency is, but the resolution is adequate foe printing surface mount PCB designs.
